Lingerie and Beachwear Sector casts a Clear Vote for Düsseldorf

BODY LOOK- International Trade Fair for Body, Beach and Legwear
4 to 6 February 2007

BODY LOOK - International Trade Fair for Body, Beach and Legwear (4 to 6 February 2007) is developing more than positively - despite its clashing with SIL Paris. "Due to the great response to the past events and the strong synergies for the fashion trade generated here we feel our decision to keep on the CPD, HMD and BODY LOOK trio of fairs was justified. The lingerie sector is delighted to see a strong international trade fair location back in Germany again and it is now focusing all its energies on strengthening the hub further with the IGEDO FASHION FAIRS in Düsseldorf ," explains Igedo Managing Director Frank Hartmann.

BODY LOOK will be held in Hall 15 of the Düsseldorf exhibition centre with direct access from the East Entrance "Eingang Ost". Located in adjoining Hall 14 will be the Fashion Gallery with its design-oriented fashion. "We are confident even at this stage that at least the same number of name brands will attend BODY LOOK as last year's event. The mood is so positive at present that even a slight rise in exhibitor numbers is quite feasible," said Project Manager Sabine Schommer summing up the current state of play.

Many key firms including Bruno Banani, Calida and Triumph International have signed up again for BODY LOOK thereby casting a clear vote in favour of the location of Düsseldorf. With names like Zimmerli from Switzerland, Björn Borg from Sweden as well as Lovable and Fila from Italy (who are starting their relaunch on the German market from here) the Igedo Company has been able to enlist renowned newcomers for the event in February despite the clash in dates. Attendance by leading beachwear manufacturers like Maryan Beachwear Group and Riedl also underlines BODY LOOK's competence as the meeting point of the sector.

And trade fair management also has good reason to be optimistic about visitor numbers. "The mood after BODY LOOK in July was extremely upbeat amongst both exhibitors and visitors alike. And we plan to build upon this. Furthermore, Düsseldorf offers lots of fashion in a compact area. We also anticipate the IGEDO FASHION FAIRS will benefit from the latest changes in the German trade fair landscape. For BODY LOOK we see new potential here in terms of young underwear, avantgarde and design-oriented collections," Igedo Managing Director Frank Hartmann went on to explain.

Trendinfo, Gala & Innovation Forum

In addition to its range of exhibitors the next Body Look also has another comprehensive supporting programme lined up for visitors: two catwalk fashion shows twice a day will put the trade audience right in the mood for the 2007/08 season as will the Trend Forum with its clearly arranged fashion themes. Due to the great response in July 2006 Ines Franz will again be presenting her packaging workshop in its own separate area. The theme this time will be making attractive, lightweight and reasonably priced packaging for Valentine's Day. Seminars and lectures on different topics will round off the range of information offered at BODY LOOK. And those seeking a few minutes' rest and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the fair can drop into the wellness oasis with its massage, aromas and teas to replenish body and soul to set them off for the rest of the day.

The exhibitors' evening offers the sector the chance to exchange ideas in a relaxed setting. And as glamour is indispensable part of fashion there will be lots of this in store on Monday evening at the "Stars in Dessous" gala held at the Stahlwerk. For the second time now, the renowned trade magazine SOUS, in collaboration with the Igedo, will be presenting its annual award to the lingerie retail trade. The best specialist lingerie stores and departments will be awarded here in a variety of different categories.
To open up the event to as wide an audience as possible the Igedo has decided to schedule the Innovation Forum on the last day of the fair. Knowledgeable speakers will be airing their views on the highly topical theme of the "Challenge Fashion, Small and Medium Enterprises, Handing over to the Next Generation Today and Tomorrow" on 6 February 2007 at CCD Ost between 1 pm and 4 pm.

Exhibitors and visitors to BODY LOOK will find reasonably priced travel and hotel deals on the Internet at www.body-look.de. On request, it will also be possible to book flights from Paris to Cologne including an adjoining bus shuttle to BODY LOOK as part of our reasonably priced contingent of tickets. Commenting on this Sabine Schommer said: "Unfortunately, the clash with SIL in February 2007 was unavoidable. And because things are how they are next February the Igedo Company has done its utmost to make business as simple for its customers as possible, even under difficult circumstances."
