The WHO's Next &
Premiere Classe
Fashion Show ...
|
The International Lab for Fashion Trends, WHO’S NEXT,
put up 650 brands on over 45,000 sqm. At the same time,
PREMIERE CLASSE, the International Fashion Accessory Designers
trade show, enhanced the offer with 450 exhibitors. In spite of a
difficult economic situation caused by a very low winter season, the
trade show's outcome remains very favourable.
A business-drawn atmosphere
The obvious complementarity between WHO’S NEXT and PREMIERE CLASSE has,
as during previous sessions, generated a true business process. Also,
having famous brands neighbouring young designers for whom WHO’S NEXT and
PREMIERE CLASSE represent the only exhibition platform, has generated a
nice synergy and favoured a purchasing atmosphere.
Finally, the first two days have registered a record attendance and the
exhibitors have found the date change positive, (Thursday to Sunday instead
of Friday through Monday) which has enabled to welcome a great number of
foreign buyers the first two days of the trade show.

A very selective offer to match very selective visitors
With a 6.6 % increase of foreign buyers, the international attendance keeps
growing. The exhibitors, very much interested in exports, were pleased to
meet with cosmopolitan visitors willing to place orders.
Moreover, they expressed
their satisfaction, having welcomed many exclusive buyers they are not used to
meeting elsewhere, such as famous American department stores.
According to
Gilles Deshayes, sales agent for Woolrich, an exclusive brand specialized in
parkas and down jackets, one of the best surprises of this trade show came
from the very numerous and decisive Italian buyers, looking for creative and
exclusive brands, as well as young designers. Boutiques and shops want a strong
identity, which leads buyers to look for different and selective products.
The WHO’S NEXT Attendance
Visitors: 32,722 among whom 9,756 foreign vistors (30 %)
Geographical origin of French visitors:
Paris 39 % // Rest of France 61 %
Except for the African attendance which has dropped, the American (+10.5%),
Asian (+4.6%), European (+5.2%) and Oceanian (+52.6%) attendance has
grown significantly compared with the last Winter session.
