An unmissable event, LYON MODE CITY is a global benchmark in lingerie and beachwear trade shows and has been ever since its creation, over twenty years ago. To confirm its visionary status, ever one step ahead of trends, the 2007 edition was going even further and taking its visitors on a unique journey, pushing back the very boundaries of fashion. The goal was to make Lyon the perfect venue for promotion and exchange between fabric specialists, manufacturers and retailers.

The Starting Point For A Trade Show Is A Vision
In association with Interfiliere, the global benchmark in fabrics and accessories for lingerie and beachwear, LYON MODE CITY offers a global vision that is absolutely unique in the world of trade fairs: bringing the industry's upstream and downstream talent together in one place. However, not content to rest on its laurels, LYON MODE CITY was enriching its offer once again this year.
The world of surfing and outdoor-wear was making a spectacular entrance with the inclusion of the Sport Achat trade show 2nd and 4th September 2007, at the EUREXPO exhibition centre in Lyon.
Not less than 350 brands, offering textiles, fabrics and accessories for outdoor, mountaineering and sportswear were thus being added to the show range.

First and foremost, Lyon Mode City is a show that is always on the move... and always moving at a business pace!

Visitors were offered a whole series of features and tools, either for the duration of the show or at regular intervals throughout the event. The show's overall product offering is divided into three distinct spaces, each dedicated to creation: - Beachwear Fashion (30% of the range) - Beachwear & Lingerie Fashion (37% of the range) - Lingerie Fashion (33% of the range).

New Features of the 2007 Edition
Children: to support a wonderfully dynamic market, LMC reinforced the children's fashion range with specialists in children's beachwear fashion (Petite Source; Sable; Mayo Parasol; Phax; Koru).

Surf village: created to bring together brands in a single space and foster exchange, presenting their collections and highlight the different lines developed, with a focus on women.

Spicy boutique: offered opportunities to complete a conventional range of lingerie and swimwear, as well as new ideas for enhancing retail outlets.

Beachwear accessories: to complete the collections, developing an extensive offer of beachwear accessories, sure to appeal to lingerie and ready-to-wear retailers alike (Pepin le Malin; Bubbles).

The Evolution Gallery
To prove its expertise LYON MODE CITY launching a brand new concept: the Evolution Gallery !
This fashion panorama at the cutting-edge of trends took the form of an 11 stage circuit, spanning 4,200m2, and linking Interfiliere to LYON MODE CITY. It summarized all the influences from upstream to downstream: from fibres to finished products in lingerie, beachwear and sportswear, each stage was decoded, analysed and highlighted in an educational and original way, with a signature spirit of fun.

As soon as they enter the Evolution Gallery, visitors are immersed in a fertile universe, teeming with images and emotions. Nature, design and innovation act as their guide. Insider information on fashion and the markets abounds. LYON MODE CITY is a trade show with principles and is happy to demonstrate and defend them! A series of theatrical displays provided the perfect backdrop to the collections' must-have products and the diverse range of fabrics.

The Evolution Gallery was also a guided tour of the markets, creating an effective link to the conferences and the range available at the show, as well as making it more accessible to visitors. Instructive, original and with its finger firmly on the pulse, it offered a veritable snapshot of the future!

The French Lingerie Village
Lingerie reclaims its place in the Spotlight with the French Lingerie Village, set up by LYON MODE CITY. Dedicated to the expertise and creative flair of the finest French lingerie specialists, it was designed and realised exclusively for French brands which are members of Promincor, the Association of the French Lingerie Federation: Millesia, Nina Ricci, Chantelle, Passionata, Empreinte, Lise Charmel, Antigel, Antinea, Eprise de Lise Charmel, Rosy, Billet Doux, Sans Complexe.

At the heart of the Village, an exclusive lounge was provided to:
- facilitate privileged meetings with key customers and major accounts - organise catwalk shows highlighting French savoir-faire and offering an exclusive presentation of new products.

The Catwalk Shows
The LYON MODE CITY runway offered an insight into new products for 2008 with two daily catwalk shows - the Lingerie catwalk show and the Beachwear catwalk show - unveiled before an audience of over 600 industry professionals.

This year, the show also hosted a third catwalk show, combining lingerie and beachwear. It offered an absolutely unique selection: the "show's absolute favourites".

Creation of the International Village

"Feel right at home, even far from home". This was the motto of the International Village which opened its doors this year. Since Lyon Mode City is a resolutely international show, it is important to welcome foreign visitors with the attention they deserve! Thanks to a number of services on offer, LMC has thought of everything to ensure that the motto of the International Village became a reality!

Upon their arrival at the International Village, foreign visitors were welcomed in their own language by the hostess service. They also were provided with a pack of translated documents, giving them the tools necessary to enjoy their stay in all serenity!

Feeling right at home, far from home is also about being able to share experiences with others. The International Village teams foster exchange. There were plenty of opportunities for networking between buyers and/or exhibitors. Each day, breakfasts on a given theme were organised in the Village lounge (the topics were published online in due course, alongside the conference topics). The lounge area was left open throughout the day. Show participants were of course welcome to use it as a venue for a meeting around a quiet drink. By increasing the number of meeting venues and opportunities for exchange, Lyon Mode City had once again confirmed its status as a highly convivial show, capable of creating the ideal business environment!
