Allude COLLECTION AUTUMN WINTER 2012/13

Contemporary luxury! Delicate cashmere artistry! Along with glamour and allure, these are the key style parameters of designer Andrea Karg, who brought her effervescent cashmere style to the catwalks of Paris in the Grand Palais on 7th March 2012.

For Autumn/Winter 2012/13, Andrea Karg, the brand's creative director, is showing edgy, intellectual bohemian chic. Layers and cleverly breached silhouettes make for clarity of statement. Lines are slim and figure-hugging, producing both extremely clingy looks and sculpted forms, for artistic character pieces! The material is weighted accordingly: from the finest knits of wafer-thin cashmere to opulent multi-ply textures.

The "allure of forbidden fruit" describes the tantalising, shimmering colour palette: flamboyant red, burgundy, and pink all play leading roles. Combined with fascinating inlays - strong graphic designs, asymmetrical motifs and the breath-taking exchange between "very sexy" and "very voluminous" - works of art are created, casting cashmere in a whole new light. Using shimmering all-over sequins, Andrea Karg introduces an element suggestive of fragility, accentuating the feminine, to communicate this characteristic all the more effectively. Lurex sensuously softens the impact of streaked and jacquard patterns.

The collection presents a wide range of tops - sweaters, twin sets, cache coeurs, cardigans etc. - while also including skirts, trousers, capes, throws, coats or tunics. 7/8 lengths and long fringes emphasise the bohemian look - redolent of sophisticated 1920s allure.

Andrea Karg is far more than just an internationally successful designer: as creative director she is responsible not only for the design of the collection, but also for the creative content of international advertising campaigns, emotionally intelligent show concepts and events - such as during the MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK in Berlin - not to mention artistic cooperation with lyricists and musicians. Moreover she also has - and it's an unbeatable combination - a great head for business, keeping tabs on the figures as well as the creative process, while successfully managing to motivate and lead her team at the Munich headquarters.

And yet, to the brand, her significance is still greater: as a modern, progressive personality, she has become the genuine, multi-faceted face of the brand!
