ART AND MATERIAL - "The weaving of cultures"

With a life-long passion for art, Claudine Ivari was seduced by the beauty and inventiveness of Olga de Amaral's creations. For Spring/Summer 2013 the designer draws inspiration from her delicate work, and is unveiling an irresistibly glamorous line.

Somewhere between delicate and refined, her creations are reinventing the art of weaving in a couture spirit. Having studied art history, Claudine Ivari lends traditional savoir-faire to her ultra-contemporary works and weaves an artistic link between the cultures of woven craft and fashion.

Borrowing from the artist's overlays and woven textiles covered in gold and silver leaf, she plays with volumes and shapes, offering an elegant modern collection with pure accents.

Light and flowing, Claudine Ivari's summer creations announce a glorious season!

Perfect cuts, constructions, delicate details... With the subtle quality of woven paper, fine fabrics add a touch of whimsy. Linen joins the celebration, as lace flirts with dramatic necklines and silk flows endlessly... At dusk, a light veil lifts and softens the atmosphere. A crescendo of powder pink, immaculate white, Klein blue, sunflower yellow, ivory and black is adorned with a touch of gold and silver.

Dresses created in a couture spirit and sumptuous, entirely hand-embroidered sheathes reveal the flawless curve of a slender leg. Meanwhile, sheer mini-dresses give off a lighthearted air.

Flowing silk muslin pants in blue or ivory are the perfect match for jackets dusted with glistening sequins. Magic is in the making ! A backless gold silk lame dress is simply breathtaking, while shimmering tweed shorts are already becoming the season's must-have.

With a truly artistic sensibility, the designer lends a poetic touch to fashion. Balancing harmony and audacity, Claudine Ivari transports us to a world in which her creations defy the codes of beauty and elegance.
